THINKING HURTS
There are no stereotypical solutions for dealing with daylight. Daylighting design is dynamic, empirical, complex and requires thinking.
As an integral part of any building design, daylighting planning requires creativity, specific engagement and perhaps even a new approach to tailoring architectural space for specific daylighting situations.
This thought process is often neglected in both the creative and administrative design process, with significant negative impacts on the building, the people and their environment. Planners are challenged to integrate daylight holistically into the design process through expertise, the use of appropriate tools and through appropriate representation and communication.
