DIRECT SUNLIGHT – MORE THAN JUST BRIGHT

Natural light combines the essential components of good lighting in a dynamic form.

The mixture of the directional light of the sun and the diffuse light of the celestial hemisphere on sunny days allow us to experience a room differently than on days with overcast skies. Thus, the same rooms appear to us in an invigorating variety in the rhythm of the day, the hour or even the minute.

When sunlight falls into an interior, sharply defined patches of light with high illuminance and clear shadows stand out. This gives us a three-dimensional perception of the room. According to the relative movement of the sun in relation to the building, light patches and shadows glide along the space-forming surfaces. This helps us to orientate ourselves in time during the course of the day and the year.
